Nevent was born 1997, at the still recent time when distressed princesses were crashing Teutonic cars against pillars' bridges. In reality, great chaos was predicted, along with a widespread commotion and troubled hopes. Universal and deafening disorder was on its way. Let's say this era was definitely made for roar.

Then a certainty appeared in Nevent's minds, composed of five fellow musicians native to various European countries and hardened to tough rock and roll: whatever the row of world's decay may be, it's always the haunting hubbub of metal that rings out best.

Thus, since its origin the band expressed its terribly acute feeling of electric music by producing a tremendous sound mixed with skilful melodic prospecting, digging up in Machinehead the impulsiveness of guitars as well as the significant vehemence of tone, cooking up in Pearl Jam or Tool by means of its enthralling singer's voice.

Brought up by prestigious references, Nevent obviously never ignored its peculiarity. During the first ten months of its existence, the band composed several original pieces while developing its touch in order to drive serenely into a recording studio. Its first self produced CD dawned in October 97. Hardly had it been proposed to metal addicts than the album got numerous favors from rock mags. Soon after that, for its first stage appearance, Nevent's performance sounded terrific introducing the US band Clutch.

Inevitably this performance led the band to think about extensive prospects. Among the various European producers to whom the album had been sent came then to light the internationally renowned figurehead of Daniel Bergstrand (Messhugah, Stuck Mojo, Strapping young Lad). The successful Swedish artist invited Nevent to join him for a studio session and the five pals immediately landed in Uppsala December 98, so as to dedicate frantically - no matter the harshness of climate - to its very vigorous " FAMILIARITY BREEDS CONTEMPT " album recording.

Back to the fold with the baby carefully wrapped up (11 overexcited tracks), things followed on rapidly from then on. May 99, Nevent toured all over Europe along with the well-known US band Overkill, and made it happen wherever they were (Italy, Germany, Austria, Czech Rep., Belgium, Turkey and Switzerland). Then the band worked on for the next months negotiating feverishly towards different labels, and eventually initializing with Pure Blended Records.

Enthusiastic about live shows, but also anxious to clear up new musical territories, Nevent spent the year 2001 composing and writing, not repressing however its desire to set stages on fire when begged for.

In the year 2002, the band was selected among 220 participants and appeared at the Bex Rock Festival (Switzerland), featuring Sisters of Mercy and Nada Surf. Facing the other 9 bands in competition, Nevent took the cake.

As for the future, it looks once more promising, since the band is getting ready to give birth to a new wild metal offspring at the start 2003.
