Formed in 1995, the german
Death Metal outfit NIGHT IN GALES has steadily grown
up to be a force to be reckoned with. After a quite
succesful demo and a 7" they signed to NUCLEAR
BLAST RECORDS, kicking off a row of high quality releases.
Their 1997 debut album "TOWARDS THE TWILIGHT"
and its follow up "THUNDERBEAST" in 1998
displayed an intense blend of raw power and catchy melody,
strong enough to catapult this heavy five piece onto
Germany's # 1 in their genre. Also NIGHT IN GALES
always have stated their reputation as a damn heavy
live act – 2 European tours ( e.g. with In Flames,
Hypocrisy, Dismember, Children Of Bodom...) and some
mini-tours, lots of festivals ( e.g. the famous Wacken
Open Air 1998 ) and countless single shows offered the
audience a lethal pack of unbound energy each night.
But besides their constant live presence NIGHT IN GALES
of course didn't forget about songwriting. Their
3rd album "NAILWORK" – mixed by producer
legend HARRIS JOHNS and released in March 2000 –
took new paths and its mixture of crushing Death Metal,
some more thrashier parts and the interplay of guttural
throatwork and melodic vocals established NIGHT IN GALES
as one of Germany's leading acts in extreme metal.
European tour # 3 ( along with e.g. Old Man's
Child, Krisiun... ) followed and NIGHT IN GALES left
an enthusiastic crowd show for show.
In late 2000 NIGHT IN GALES and NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS
split up, but realizing NIGHT IN GALES' potential
MASSACRE RECORDS picked them up just as quickly. In
january 2001 NIGHT IN GALES recorded their latest album
"NECRODYNAMIC", and it definitely shows
that death has no limits ! "NECRODYNAMIC"
gives extreme metal the long overdue update and guarantees
multiple eargasms with ist upstyledown mixture of crusty
Death Metal madness, whippin' Thrash riffs and
a whole lotta rockin' easiness, wrapped in Johns'
stereokilling production and a damn deadly artwork !
Listen to "Necrodynamic" and you'll
literally feel NIGHT IN GALES shakin' the stage
and makin' the moshpit seethe...! Independent,
modern, catchy and heavier than ever before - this is
the NIGHT IN GALES sound of today, that already has
even been presented in Japan on NIGHT IN GALES'
tour thru the land of the rising sun with Defleshed
and Dew-Scented in spring 2001 as well as – once
more – on the famous Wacken Open Air...!!
Unfortunately there are always two sides of each coin,
so MASSACRE RECORDS didn't show the needed support
for NIGHT IN GALES either. Finally the band had to leave
their already started European tour with God Dethroned
in october 2001 due to the lack of financial support
from the label. Coming back home, NIGHT IN GALES immediately
left MASSACRE RECORDS. But this passionate quintet,
who have done over 160 crushin' liveshows since
the band's start, won't back down.
"NECRODYNAMIC" was released in North America
through SKYSCRAPER MUSIC in fall 2002, and a Japanese
release is worked on as well. The songwriting for NIGHT
IN GALES #5 has started quite promising, and the years
that follow will see some more heavy live experiences
such as NIGHT IN GALES' appearance on the Party-San
Open Air, the Summer Breeze Open Air and last but not
least NIGHT IN GALES will start a mini-tour through
Germany, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands along
with Withering Surface, Disillusion and Infliction.
