ROSTRUM was originally formed
in Montreal by lead singer Stéphane Soucy –
Rev. S.S. Rose in October 2002. While releasing their
first demo “In Aeternum Mortis”, the band
quickly gained a solid live reputation, playing remarkable
and theatrical performances along side Hate Eternal,
Krisiun and Necronomicon among others. Their dark music
and visual conception of the Black Metal genre was strongly
influenced by international acts such as Emperor, Sins
of thy Beloved, Twiligth Opera, Bal-Sagoth, King Diamond…
Proudly, in 2005…
ROSTRUM’s conceptual project DVD “Ave Tenebraï”
is finally completed. Included are live performances,
two video clips - “I’ll be saved”
and “The lust of raping your god” and a
short satanic experimental film “Ritualis”,
all under supervision of graphic designer and film maker
Pat Tremblay. The short movie “Ritualis”
has been in the international film festival circuits
such as “Fantasia International Film Festival”
(2004 official selection), Montreal’s “Spasm
Horror Film Festival” (2004 official selection
& special jury prize winner), “Festival du
cours métrage” in Sherbrooke (official
selection for the clip “I’ll be saved”
and also presentation of “Ritualis”), special
mention in the best-of at “Spasm” festival
2004, “European Horror Fiesta Festival”
in Poland (2004 official selection) and. Sweden’s
”Étrange nuit du cinema” (official
selection).
The DVD was self produced and recorded at Montreal’s
“Rostrum” studio by Rev. S.S. Rose, so was
the 2002 demo “In Aeternum Mortis” and promoted
by Allegiance Produtions.
Descending from a Lucifer-ish trance, Rev. S.S. Rose’s
science of the dark side has just begun. Behold the
mighty voices of his vengeance and stand as monolith
of wrath beneath a plain of writhing serpents!
